Commenced his career in banking in the corporate banking division of Nat West Bank, before serving as Head of Corporate Banking of the London office of MeesPearson, a major Dutch bank for which he built a successful and highly profitable operation. Darryl was head hunted by Singer and Friedlander, a London independent merchant bank, and was appointed a Director in the corporate banking division, responsible for new business and strategy whilst pioneering ground-breaking sports finance financial instruments during which time he served as President of the Executives Association of Great Britain,
He left banking to structure and launch a sports media business through which he became Chairman of Mike Gatting’s (England cricket captain) Testimonial Committee and was appointed Director of the Rugby Football League. More recently, he has advised a number of companies focusing on strategy, business planning, fundraising mechanisms and cross-Atlantic trading, specialising in technology and environmentally friendly businesses.
